Fuel Filter location?

Where should the fuel filter be located on my Tr6? Currently it is 
between  the tank and the fuel pump. I've recently installed  an 
electric fuel pump in the engine compartment & my filter is still 
between the fuel tank & the pump.

I'm thinking it should be between the pump & the carbs?
