Hello,
I finally got a TR6 to play with. 1970, with factory
hardtop, pretty good shape - I'm chuffed to bits! This
list seems great and I hope I can contribute to it when
I've gotten a few things under my belt. But for now...
I'm replacing the rear brake calipers. I've got the
retaining plate kit too which includes that funky dust
cover for the handbrake lever. Question is: Is the
dust cover supposed to somehow fit underneath these
retaining plates? It fits over the handbrake lever
just fine, but the dust cover has a square section
hanging off it that really seems to want to fit under
the retaining plates, but I can't quite sus out how
this would work - and my attempts to fit it under the
plates don't work. This square section was left
hanging there by the previous owner, but it just
doesn't seem right. The drawings from parts catalogues
and things don't indicate what the heck to do with this
square section.
Anybody know what to do with this square section of the
dust cover?
Also, if you have some tips as to the stacking order
and slot direction of the three plates that make up the
retaining kit (the "spring plate" which is large and
has a curve to it; the "locking plate" which is large
and straight; and the "distance washer" which is
smaller and locks into the locking plate) that would
also be great. I think I've got this worked out but
I'm not confident that the parts diagrams are
indicating this properly.
Many Thanks & Happy to be here.
Steve
