Hello all,
A couple of days ago, I went down to the Pine Ridge Reservation looking
for old cars. I had to buy gas and guess what? Though the pumps said 87
octane, I had to build my speed and coast up hills to eliminate
pre-ignition pinging. I have my timing set with 87 octane and I shouldn't
have had this problem, even with 85. It must have been some real crap for
gas. Good thing I was in my low compression Scout.
So when you set your timing consider road trips and the availability of
92 octane.
PS I was looking for two 1966 Chargers and a loose 426 Hemi for sale for
$1500. Saw mostly mini vans.
Steve
