Geoff,
If you have an early car with the remote (not on the starter) solenoid then
you would jump the solenoid out on the starter. Your '74 (same year as
mine) has the solenoid on the starter so would not need to jump anything
out, simply connect the starter the same as your origninal Lucas starter.
