Josh, It sounds great. But all you know from the temp gauge is that is is measuring some temp, but you have no idea what. A better test is to buy a cheap meat thermomometer and when the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and place it in the top. Let the engine warm up to operating temp and see what happens. I thought I had an overheating problem until I measured the temp of the coolant and found I was right on with where I was supposed to be with the thermostat opening and closing right where it was designed to.
