Darrell---To be sure that your problem is till an overly rich mix, try introducing an air leak into the intake system. (i.e. Partially or fully disconnect a vacuum line) If the idle speed goes up, or doesn't drop, you are indeed still rich. There are other possibilities for the higher than allowed CO. Check the cylinder pressures to be certain they're at least over 100. Be sure hot water is flowing thru the intake manifold, for good fuel vaporization. Most States drop the emissions test on cars over 30 years old. Dick |
