First you need to know if it is an early head(
3.46" ) or late, the later are thicker ( 3.55" ).

You can mill off a lot from a TR6 head it depends
what you are doing to the motor? The biggest
concern
when you mill the head you increase the
compression ratio and pump gas begins to be a
problem after
9.0 to 1. I took 81 thou off my 3.55" head ( which
was actually 3.54" it had 10 thou off at a
previous time) which took me to 3.459"
plus I have .020" over pistons so I am probably
running around or a little over 9.0 to 1.
