voltage question

I bought my TR6 last year and I was doing some work on it this week.
After putting everything back together I noticed that voltmeter showed
approx. 15 volts sometimes and then went back to normal (13 range). The
alternator is / was new when I bought it last year as well as the
battery. Does anyone have any ideas or is this just a normal TR thing
that I haven't noticed before.
