Allan Hendrix and Hendrix Wire Wheel in Greensboro is a great source for
solutions for your wire wheel problems. They have an add in the VTR magazine.
Phone #336 852-8909.
NFI, just good experiences with them.

Subject: WIRE WHEEL TROUBLE

HI GUYS

I PURCHASED A NEW SET OF WIRE WHEELS AND HUB ADAPTORS FROM TRF. I HAVE USED
THEM 2 YRS.
MY REAR END STARTED CLUNKING, I SUSPECTED A BAD U-JOINT. NO SUCH LUCK.
AFTER RAISING THE CAR AND TURNING THE WHEELS BY HAND, I NOTICED THE WHEEL
WAS MOVING BUT THE BRAKE DRUM WAS NOT. THERE WAS ABOUT 3/8THS OF AN INCH
SLACK. NO WONDER IT CLUNKED.
I COULD HARDLY BELIEVE IT, AFTER ALL JUST TWO SEASONS AGO THEY WERE BRAND
NEW. CLOSE INSPECTION OF THE WHEEL SPLINES WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS REVEALED
NO DAMAGE. THE HUB ADAPTORS SHOWED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. THIS OF COURSE WAS
A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

HAS ANYBODY ELSE HAD THESE KINDS OF TROUBLES? ANY SUGGESTIONS?
IS THERE A SOURCE OF "QUALITY" HUB ADAPTORS?

I LIKE WIRES BUT THIS IS WAY MORE TROUBLE THAN EXPECTED.

THANKS
DAVE
