I recently purchased my 1971 Stag MK1, and have begun a ground-up
restoration. And so, as I make my way tearing down the car into smaller
pieces, assessing the "damage" along the way, I have discovered all sorts
of fun projects (we love our cars).

The Convertible/Hood Frame is broken at the forward joint (see link
below),
and I'm uncertain on how best to repair, if even viable.

The front bar (locking/release lever section) is in good/fair condition -
some rust, but could salvaged - perhaps some lead filler could revive it.
The rest of the frame is perfect.

BUT, the two sections are BROKEN apart (front bar snapped from side bars)
How should I fix this?

[ ] Welding (I've never done this before)
[ ] Rivet a support plate between the two
[ ] Bring it to a specialist? (suggestions)
[ ] Frame exchange (Rimmer Brothers offers a but $460 plus freight is too
rich for me).
[ ] Forget the top altogether :)

Thanks in advance.
