My 1970 TR6 has a retrofitted A type OD in it. I have been running it pretty
hard for 8 years using 2nd, 3rd and 4th OD without any problems. I find the
2nd OD especially helpful in rallys, etc where you don't have time to shift or
where you just need a few less RPMs for that final 50 feet before the next
cone. FWIW, I think this is a good reason to get an A type OD over the J type.
So far this thing is still going strong, hope I didn't jinx it with this
comment.
