yes, you need a larger gasket, which should be similar/identical to the
large gasket for your old filter housing and serves the same purpose. It
should have been included in the kit with the spin-on adaptor.
if it wasn't, resist the temptation to re-use the old one, since this one
will be clamped in there for all eternity (hopefully), and you want it to be
in good shape. Instead, call up TRF and vent in a constructive fashion,
which is what I'm doing right now with my incompetent and annoying credit
card company (Bank One) on an entirely different topic.
