Peter, I inadvertently sent this message before I was finished. You
also need a way to compress the front spring. Moss and others sell a
tool to do this, but it is possible to do it the Bentley way, and that
is with the front of the frame supported by jackstands, position a jack
under the front spring pan and then release the spring pan nuts and
slowly lower the jack to release the spring pressure. This is a little
tricky but doable. I usually like to use a chain or a heavy rope to
tether the spring to the frame for safety. I have also heard of others
using an inside type of spring compressor that compresses the spring
from the inside because most outside spring compressors wont work since
there isnt enough clearance to get three of these on properly. John

Subject: Re: Suspension and Steering Questions - rebuilds
Speaking of front end re-builds, is anyone aware of a good guide
on TR6 front
end re-building? I was recently quoted AUD 2500 (~USD 1500) for a
rebuild and
am seriously looking at doing the majority of work myself.
