John---Since you guys are about to either replace or reposition the ring gear on a flywheel, note that most (all?) TR6 'gears were put on backwards. To get the lead on the "right side", it should be turned around to match the lead on the starter pinion. It seems that at one time other TR's had their starter pinion engaging the flywheel ring gear from the opposite side, and this was never changed when the starter pinion came in from the other side.
