I would agree. I especially like Ted, Richard, and TRF speaking up about
their products. All of these folks take pride in their products, and
have a right to speak up and explain the situation from their point of
view.

I don't know who has the "best" pile, but I can certainly understand
someone deciding to stick with the stock product to maintain
originality. I can certainly imagine the pile being too tall and not
"looking correct" to knowledgeable eyes, when to some others the thicker
stuff was "better" because it felt softer. Kind'a just depends on your
point of view, and how many carpets you've looked at.

But getting back to triple carbs, Richard Good and Dick Taylor may have
independently hit upon something.

Could someone who has triple ZS, take the air cleaners off, and crank it
up to 5K or so and see how high the air cylinders are in the carbs. If
they're all the way up, maybe Richard has made his point about the
triple carbs not being overkill? Or maybe leave the air cleaners on and
stick a pen in the oil dampers and see how high the pen rises with the
air cleaners on? Maybe it doesn't work w/o a load on the engine?
