        Some Other differences:

        Later cars had more gusseting on the frame to reduce cracking
in the known weak spots on the chassis; Brake fittings went from
English to metric; Fan design changed to improve cooling; Overdrive
went from A type to J type; Headrests were changed to removable;
Changes made to transmission for durability; Additional warning
lights added to instruments; Interior lighting changed from
transmission tunnel to under dash courtesy lights; steering wheel
design and size changes; Engine block deck changed (requires
different head gasket); Exhaust valve was made smaller; Improved
port design in the cylinder head; Side impact door beams added;
Bumper heights raised, rubber baby buggy bumpers added;
windshield frame changed to black; headlight dimmer switch moved
to steering column; More aggressive cam added; Compression ratio
was lowered for emissions;

        ... and probably a whole lot more I can't remember.

        Whew!

        Vance

Bernie,

 I've read in Roger William's book (page 134, col 1, paragraph 3) "How to
Restore Triumph TR5/250 & TR6" that there is a difference in the trailing
arm
castings, but I've never seen this referred to anywhere else. So I can't say
for sure if there was a change. I've got an early 6 and some latter trailing
arms, but there wasn't a noticeable difference. The emphasis being on
noticeable. Note -The rear springs were changed at this point too.
  So, sorry I can't venture to answer your question.

  William's does state there is a date code somewhere on the TA .

Richard

Richard I was reading your response and the issue that really caught my eye
is the Trailing Arms, can one not use the trailing arms for all years
regardless of the year of manufacture?
Bernie
