Hi All,
I've been playing with sound files a bit, I'm no expert yet - BUT - I
wound up getting a .wav file from my race car during an event back in
September.
First the rules - I run a web server on my local workstation. The
operative here is _work_, I need to do that so that I can play with my
Triumphs on weekends! So, please limit attempts to download the file to
non-work hours (I work 9 - 6 weekdays, EST). Second, don't keep coming
back to the site for the file... it's pretty big so save it to your hard
drive the first time you vist (please).
The event was a Jaguar "slalom". Jags of North America use a "standard
course" which is for all intents and purposes pretty tight, but
challenging nonetheless, but you'll notice that there is no shifting at
all (basically a 1st gear course with the emphasis on turn-in, turning and
conservation of momentum, NOT acceleration and braking). For this
particular even, my times were in low 39 second range (e.g. 39.1xx). But
the recording is about 52 seconds. The camera records sounds in mono, so
you'll only hear the left channel.
Last - the file is pretty BIG at 9 MB.
If my server locks up, try again later. If it locks up too many times,
I'll pitch the file.
If you post this sound file anywhere, please give me some sort of credit -
it took a lot of time and effort (and $$$) to make these sweet sounds!
zoom zoom,
rml
