A-Type solenoid is verticle & the J-Type solenoid is horizontal & both are 
externally located on the driver side(lhd).  Were the J-Type installed in an 
early frame, the driver side(lhd) tranny mount would have to be cut back 
slightly to make room for the solenoid(ask me how i know)
