Your stuck now but if your mechanic is honest and
does good work keep him.
Try to work around him for example bring your car
to him in his slower season if he has one,
Break your list into manageable chunks and bring
work to others for example the body work
go to a body shop. A lot of British stuff is
simple so reserve only the drive train and
electrics
for your British mechanic and go to your local
whoever changes the oil on your daily cars
for some other stuff. Be specific and be careful.
Kind of triage for cars ?
Over heard at a garage (don't know if it actually
happened) - mechanic says to Doctor with a E type
Jag while tuning carbs;
" We are very similar, you bring your car in and I
fix your problems, people go to Doctors for
basically the same".
Doctor replied, " yes, but can you do everything
with the car running?"
