Mark,
First of all, good luck on your adventure! Every long trip I've made in my
car has been just that. With the exception of one, all have been without
incident. A number of people have offered lists of things to bring along
and I can't help but notice that the boot is very nearly full.
If I could offer advice on yet another thing to bring, albeit a small one;
ear plugs. I have found over the years that the ambient noise on a long
trip can be most fatiguing, and it can be countered by wearing the little
yellow ear plugs that roll up and then expand in the ear canal. Very
effective, yet one can still make out the ticking of the turn indicators.
