header/gear reduction starter : FYI

I found out to my dismay, two things that don't go together.
My beloved gear reduction starter and the new two piece header.
The G. starter, the way it sits doesn't allow the header to pass by.
I put my old stock starter on (which doesn't work) and everything fit ok.
I'll probably be bringing the gear reduction starter to the  SE VTR to auction
off.
