Mitch:
In "Tuning Standard Triumphs over 1300cc" Vizard gives
lots of information on how to detail the oil pump. The book is
available in PDF form from

Basically, you reduce the end float on the rotors (hey,
I am citing this from memory, and you gotta make allowances
for an old man's memory - it's pretty wobbly!!!).
He didn't recommend shimming the spring to increase
pressure, as I recall.....

Subject: Autopumps oil pump
Hi All,
I'm in the process of gathering parts for an engine rebuild & received
an oil pump from one of my vendors made by Autopumps. I am not familiar
with this brand & would like to know if anyone else has had any
experience with them. The last thing I want is an lubrication problem on
a fresh motor. I checked their website and it appears to be a british
company out of Warrington England.
Are there any mods I can do to the new replacement to improve flow?
Thanks, as always
