Just a quick note about the TR6 (sorry, I lost the sender's e-mail
address)... the picture:

looks like there is a tread separation on the front right Michelin. You
might want to get the tire checked for an out of round condition.
I only mention this because I had a similar experience with a tire on my
TR6 (years ago) where the belt separated. I had a seat-of-the-pants
vibration after painting the wheels (the tires were taken off, the rims
sandblasted and then painted and then the tire were mounted/balanced). We
re-checked the balance a couple of times and then checked the tire for
"roundness"... it was about 1/4" out of round. When we looked really
closely, there was steel fabric poking out through the tread.
I was probably 100 miles from a "disaster".
But that apparent bulge by the letter "X" on the sidewall is a dead
giveaway that there's a problem there.
BTW, nice car! I happen to have a soft spot for '74 Carmine TR6's.
