If you get an overdrive tranny from a TR6, it will bolt up to the driveshaft
with no trouble. The J-type was used on Stag and Spitfire also, and the
Spitfire unit will not bolt up without drilling new holes and enlarging the
center recess. Should be less than 75 bucks to get it done at a decent
machine shop. I ran into this kind of thing when building O/d trannies using
parts acquired from different sources.
