FYI,

I stumbled into one of the few really good deals out there. AutoZone has a 
few specialty auto tools that they loan out for free with a fully refundable 
deposite. Some of them may be too hefty for British cars (like the ball joint 
puller that I tryed) but the  ,the inside the coil, spring compressor worked 
great.
