Listers,
I'm still working on getting my 6 to idle. I recently rebuilt the carbs, and
it's running much better than it was before. I seemed to have a vacuum leak
around the throttle shaft seals on my rear carb, so I removed the carb and
installed the seals with the open end facing out. I remember reading this
somewhere and it seemed to work. Does this mean I need to have the throttle
shafts re-bushed?
Also, while adjusting the mixture on the rear carb, the engine stumbled
badly and quit. I had to play with the throttle to get it started, and then
would barely run without lots of throttle. It wasn't missing, it just
sounded very labored and no power. I let it sit for an hour or so, and it
started right up and ran OK. Could this be a needle valve stuck closed or
something?
