Kraig---Having the clutch disengage/ engage "close to the floor" is
common, but not as it should be. The fix can be to remove any play in
the clutch linkage down in the pedal box, if you find a lot of slop
here. OR, if this linkage has no serious play, chances are good that
the clutch fork pin is either loose in the shaft, or broken.
Do the quick check first, and measure the stroke of the pushrod at the
Slave Cylinder. When the clutch pedal is depressed to the floor, this
rod should move out of the SC about 1/2 inch. If it does, then the odds
are that the reason for having to depress the pedal so far is you are
experiencing flex between the pin that goes thru the fork and clutch
operating shaft.
