I torque them to 80, put everything together, crank the car and let it
get up to temp, turn off , let cool a little bit and retorque. Only lost
one headgasket with this procedure but that one had 16 to 1 compression!

Six Pack Team,
First I want to thank you guys for saving my sanity. Last month, I lost
a valve seat and started into the engine top end. If it had not been for
the "rope trick" I'd still be working at it. I can't thank you enough
for your collective genius!
Now that I've gotten it apart and machined, I want to know what the spec
is for the torque on the head stud nuts. I know that I've seen it
somewhere, but those brain cells are now gone. ( seems like 80 ft. lbs?)
Thanks in advance.
