I purchased one of the high torque lightweight starters during TRF Winter
Sale for $168 and no core; so perhaps if you shop around.

Subject: starter sources?
I'm trying to find a cheap starter -- Auto Zone sells one for $120 plus
$20
core, as listed below. has limited lifetime warranty, which is
appealing.
DURALAST-IMPORT STARTER for a 1972 TRIUMPH TR6
comments? any other ideas?
Moss is $160, plus $28 core. NAPA claims not to stock. Pep Boys doesn't
have.
my old starter craps out after it cranks for a bit (usually starts the
car,
though), and sucks a lot of current. I cleaned/checked all connections
yesterday, and battery is new/good.
thanks.
