thanks for all the useful feedback on tire selection. Now my next question:
what size?
People seem to be running mostly 215/70-15 or the slightly smaller
205/70-15. Any strong sentiments why?
I dug up the following information on tire diameters:
MICHELIN REDLINE 185R15 (sold by Coker, this is presumably closest to the
"original" tire)
7 Overall Diameter: 26.50
7 Cross Section: 6.50
Coker Classic redline, 185/15
7 Overall Diameter: 27.00
7 Described by Coker as "Perfect replacement tire for TR-6"
Pirelli P400 Touring, 205/70-15 (just a sample tire that I picked; I'm sure
others will vary slightly)
7 Overall Diameter, 26.2
Pirelli P400 Touring, 215/75-15
7 Overall Diameter, 26.7
So ... which size is likely to give the most accurate speedo reading? And is
there a significant difference in performance between the -75 and -70 series
tires?
