thankyou to everyone who responded to my hot engine question. I need to
clarify a few things. firstly, my replacement engine was out of a wreck. I
checked it over, miked the crank, replaced all seals and bearings, but the
engine was never washed out. i did do a rad flush twice before I changed
rad. I am wondering if there is a blockage some place.
I did change the thermostat to a no fault 175 degree one. While the engine
is runing, I can put my hand on top of the thermostat cover and it is very
hot. i have replaced this thermostat twice so I think it is ok. I even
whent for a drive with no thermostat, same temp. reading.
I do not think my gauge or my sender is wrong, because they were fine with
the old engine and I did nothing to them. Of course I could be wrong, since
I am grabbing at straws. I also feel that there is an easy solution, but
finding it is not easy.
I also agree , that perhaps my new bearings are not yet broken in and all
this worrying is for not. But I have read that driving a hot engine will
soon lead to disaster.

please advise me

thanks, hot stuff.
