I just did my brakes last week. The hooks are on a peculiar angle, they do
not hook through the hole the way the bottom spring attaches. Feed the hook
through the hole with the tip of the hook pointing towards the outside of the
drum. It's like the back side of the hook is being held in place in the hole.
Strange configuration, but that's the way it came from the factory.

Hi
I am putting together my drums now and having a little trouble with the
return springs. The lower (shorter) return spring is no problem, it is the
upper spring......I'm not quite sure how to connect it to the brake shoes.
the hooks seem to be at weird angles. Any help would be appreciated.
