Jim---For long lasting results, pull both the speedo and tach cables out
of their sheath. Apply a medium weight grease liberally, to all but the
last foot or so at the instrument connection. There will be surplus in
the sheath to lube these ends. When reinserting the inner cables you
will feel the square ends as they nestle into the drive ends. Twist the
cable, if necessary to achieve this.
