Keith and List:

I'm on the brink of rebuilding the front suspension of my '69 TR6. (my wife
thinks I'm just on the brink, period!)

I'm interested to know in what condition you found the vertical links on
your car. I've recently done some repair on the front suspension, replacing
the trunnion bushings and seals as the old bushings were completey worn out
allowing some vertical movement of the large, bottom bolt. Now I'm going to
replace the trunnions with new ones, along with the other suspension
bushings, springs, etc. Did you feel comfortable reusing the vertical
links? I have no reason to believe that the links are bent or otherwise
unusable but am concerned about what I might find when the units are
finally disassembled.

Have other List members just done the usual R & R to the vertical links and
then used them with NEW trunnions? I'll be bead blasting and painting all
the components I remove and reuse. I'll try to access the archives for
suggestions on what type of paint to use on the components but any off-the
cuff-suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, there are a couple of questions buried here. Thanks for reading and
offering your assistance.

BTW - I received "Stanpart" tie rod levers (steering arms) from TRF along
with other parts that I ordered. A pleasant surprise to see what appear to
be NOS parts. I got the the new distance pieces for the tie rod levers from
Moss Motors. This combo should really tighten things up in the steering.
The new trunnions look good with new steering lock-stops installed. All in
all I'm pretty excited about the feel of the car when I'm finally done with
the project.

Best regards,
