Forget ever replacing your valve guides by boring out the old and
pressing in new. There is a product on the market called a " K- liner" you
should look into. It is a much thinner shell . You bore out the old liner
to an "X" size (still retaining the original) and insert this liner that is
already sized for the valve stem.
The Idea here is that a valve guide is worn out when the valve can
tilt beyond a given amount (less then a few thousandths). Why bore out
such a large valve guide when all you have to do is bore out and replace
that which is worn?
