Tim,
    so you've got the disease....   Welcome to the world of BBC (Big British
Cars).   The best jag site available is  www.jag-lovers.org  which covers
every model made.  I have an 87 SIII, the XJ6 list on jag-lovers has a great
archive, FAQ and phenomenal help available.  Post there about your pending
acquisition and you'll get loads of help.

1st off, is if carb or FI?  the gas will have done it's thing in either
case, and a full set of hoses, cleaning of carb or FI's will be required.
Brake fluid, engine oil, tranny fluid, all will need check out and
replacing, just for starters, but the collective wisdom of the list will
help you out.
