Paint Question - Alternator

I am reapinting my Lucas alternator (cleaning up the engine bay fun!!)
and wondered if anyone knew what color is the band that goes around the
middle of the body supposed to be.  I repainted the whole thing (except
the fan blades) hammerite silver, but I seem to recall that the middle
band is painted copper?  I saw the color once on an NOS Lucas
alternator. Anyone have any ideas?
