Steering

I recently changed the flexible coupling on my steering. After removing the
coupling I found that the steering wheel turned to the right easily, but had
a lot of drag when turning left. Any ideas what would cause this?

Speaking of steering wheels, the covering on mine is cracked. The PO had a
cheap cover on it. Can the wheel be recovered like the original, or should I
find a good used or new one?
