Sorry to say, but I suggest replacing the water pump. I also had your
problem, and found that the packing around the shaft had dried up / shrunk.
I'm not sure whether repacking is an option, but new costs around $30 to
$50.

after changing antifreeze today, and doing the quick peek into the carbs, I
noticed that I'm dripping antifreeze from what appears to be a weep hole
under the pump. Questions, does the pump indeed have a weep-hole, and 2,
can a new seal be easily put in one, or is the rebuild route the best?
