Hello Listers:
Although I feel the need to control my excitement in light of the recent
tragedy to strike our country I wanted to share my engine rebuild progress
report with you. Frankly, I've missed having my usual sense of humor these
past 30 days. I hope we'll all breath a little easier down the road, soon.
Anyway - Yesterday I returned my car to the shop for reinstallation of the
newly rebuilt engine. Here's what has been done:
.030 overbore, new pistons, hotter street cam, lightened and balanced
flywheel, ALL engine components remachined and balanced, new clutch, and a
stainless steel OEM style exhaust system. While the car was at home I
cleaned, painted, detailed in the engine bay and replaced as much of the
rubber products; grommets, etc. as I could. If the auto gods are with me I
should have the car back by the middle of next week, just in time for the
Tyee Triumph Club "Spooky Rally" on October 27.
Woking late in the garage these past few weeks has provided a welcome
respite from the talking heads on TV. I'm looking forward to the couple of
other winter projects I have planned. Driving the car next week will be
great, too!
With best regards,
