Peter - had exactly the same problem last summer.   my solution was contact
Wayne Bier (sp?) at Triumphs Only in San Jose California.  He has a number
of old busted speedo's and found what I needed very quickly.  very good
price.   he's at (IIRC)  www.triumphsonly.com    and will ship world wide..
