Jeff---My (replacement) water pump has been in service for a good many
years. There is no place for a grease fitting, nor did the original on
this '73 model. The Owners Manual shows this as one of the lube points,
just to play with our heads, it seems. I installed the pump with the
'weep' hole at the side, and peered into it a few times over the years,
but saw nothing.
There are instructions for properly 'breaking in' the carbon-like
bearing on these pumps. We are supposed to spin them dry for a minute or
so to seat it. I read this some time later, so I didn't know to do this.
(Maybe TRF did?) No problem i any case.
