I just finished this on my 250....scraped as much as possible then used a 
very coarse grit emery cloth to get the rest. Then a rubbing with lacquer 
thinner. Caution...much ventilation and rubber gloves.

I used a heat gun to remove the sound deadening pads. Came off like soft 
butter. I tried the heat gun on the carpet glue before the above but it 
turned it into sticky mess.

It is not a plesant task but goes fairly quickly. I also used the heat gun to 
remove the undercoating that nothing else would touch.
