What's been the experience of listers in replacing or restoring rusted floor
pans? I've some MIG welding experience, but would prefer to avoid cutting
and patching in a new floor panel, given the current one has only a few
small rust-throughs, but is a little "springy". I've heard that cutting out
the floor pan but leaving an inch around the perimeter aids in welding in
the new one.
However, there's also the plastic restorations such as POR sells for $150,
which allow allow all of the structural details to be replicated, i.e., the
reinforcement ridges using epoxy paints and steel mesh.
