Greetings fellow enthusiasts.

I would like to introduce myself to the list and ask a few questions. I
bought a yellow '73 TR6 in 1980 and used it as a daily driver for 6 years.
Marriage, kids, and life led me to store the car in hope of one day doing a
full restoration. Being a typical Northeast 6 it has rust in all the usual
places including the chassis. 15 years later I started to think seriously
about the resto and while perusing the VTR classifieds found a promising
red '73 in my area that needed to seen. Well now I own two '73 TR6's and I
am figuring out what to do with my first one. The "new" (red) car is in
great shape having had a frame off resto 7 years ago. The only strange
thing about the car is that it has been fitted with the upper steering
column and wheel from a Datsun Z car! The dash has been modified to accept
this and includes a clock and oil temp gauge, turn indicators from a 72 or
earlier and no fresh air vents. Also the veneer has been replaced with
wood grain plastic laminate (ugh!).

Now to my questions.

Is it more cost effective to take the dash and steering column out of my
"old" (yellow) TR and sell what's left or should I sell the yellow car as
is and buy what is missing? (Keeping the yellow car is not an option, the
red one is in the garage and My wife has given me 6 mo to get the yellow
one out of the driveway.)

If I do use the yellow car for parts what other parts should I hold on to?
I've been reading about the clutch issues and while the new clutch requires
considerably more pressure than the old one it releases about 1/4 way
through it's travel.

TIA for your comments.
