Rubber Seal "Yellowing"

Howdy folks,
It's hot down here in the deep south!  I have a new windshield seal
(installed one year ago) and it has "yellowed" on the inside and
outside. I keep the car in a car port and under cover.  Any ideas?  I
thought I washed the seals when new to take off the mold release agent,
but maybe soap and water didn't do it?
