I too have just ordered Dan's book, because I am having many electrical
problems of my own. I have a 71, which has different headlight wiring
than your 76, however I am pretty sure that they are similar enough to
make some comparisons. My car has no fuse for the headlights. When I
move the headlight switch, the unfused power feed connects to the
parking/dash light circuit on the first click (this circuit is fused),
then connects to the headlights on the second click. A few times my
fuse has blown, meaning that when I put my headlights on, only the
headlights go on (dash and parking don't work). It sounds like you
have lost the unfused power feed (if indeed your TR6 is wired similarly
to mine), since you don't have any power on any of the switch
terminals. If so, then you want to look for where the feed originates.
Either it has become disconnected, or there is a break in the wire
somewhere.
One question though. In your email, it sounds like you said that your
dip switch works. How do you know that your dipswitch works if your
headlights aren't working?
