Triumphisti...top this is you can....
Attended the Rocky Mountain Triumph Club Spring Car Show in Golden, Colorado
today. At 11 am the temperature was a balmy 75 degrees with bright sun,
scattered clouds, and light breezes blowing across numerous Triumphs, TVRs,
and a lovely 72 MGB that was up for fund-raising raffle. The Colorado sun was
warm and the shade was refreshing....shorts, tee shirts, sunglasses and
sunscreen was the dress code.....
Fast forward to 4pm....seemingly out of nowhere a blast of very cold air
crossed the Denver metro area at 50+ mph with very dark clouds accompanying
it. Fifteen minutes later it was heavy wind mixed with rain and sleet....by
5pm it was still blowing hard AND SNOWING! Yes, Sprintime in the Rockies! By
8pm this evening it is still snowing hard but the winds have subsided.
Nothing sticking to roadways yet....but the ground is white. Predicted
several inches by morning with a "cover the plants" warning from the weather
guessers (who by the way, did predict this!) But of course, it is hard to
take that forecast seriously when you are wiping your brow in the sun while
drooling over an original condition Valencia BlueTR250 flanked by a georgeous
BRG TR4-IRS and a red TR6!
Well everyone...enjoy the sun while you can...this garbage is headed east!
