Corey...not sure if this will apply in your case or not. But did you know
eBay offers fraud insurance for purchases that were not as described? See
http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/insurance.html
Maybe you can get some money back. Hope so, anyway...

Subject: Carb part needed.
I was rebuilding a set of Carburetors that I brought on eBay and need a
replacement "guide rod/oil well" assembly which I cracked when trying to
remove the metering needle. It sounds impossible, and I feel really
stupid, but most every single part is frozen, dented, seized, rusted and
corroded -- what gas was left turned into tar -- so when I tried to remove
the retaining screw, the guide cracked. I, too, o'course used too much
force :-(
On a side note, I found it interesting that the seller, from Canada,
claimed that it worked in his car before he removed it two years ago...
I'm surprised it did cause an engine fire! Lesson to be learned -- buyer
beware!
At this point, I figure this would be a interesting project. I'm hand
finishing every piece to a high polish, but without this piece, it no
longer make sense to continue since without, it the carbs are useless. Can
anybody help me out. Thanks in advance
The part is in TRF page 53, #AV9 (NSS!)
