Manifold studs/brass or bronze?

Hello All:

I'm replacing the lower (and upper) manifold studs on my '69 TR6.  The upper 
studs (4) appear to be steel.  The lower studs (6) appear to be bronze or 
brass.  Any idea as to the composition of these lower studs?
